After the application is closed, we will select winners by conducting a strict screening or lot drawing. The result will be posted on the campaign website and sent to the winners by direct mail.

How to apply

1. Download the Instagram app or the Twitter app, and follow “@shokutottori,” the official account of the food Capital.

2. Take a photo or a video of food from or scenery of Tottori.

3. Post your photo or video after adding the hashtag designated for the course of your choice.

4. If you are selected, you will receive a direct message from @shokutottori.

Application Guidelines*Be sure to read before you apply.

  • Be sure to post a photo or video that you have taken in person, and also that has never won any award before. If it is found that you have posted a photo or video taken by someone else, you will become ineligible for screening or lot drawing. Also note that if you post any text, it also must be your own original text.
  • You can post a photo or video that you have processed. However, if you post an excessively processed work, a collage of more than one photograph, or a photo or video to which some letters or characters have been added, you will become ineligible for screening or lot drawing.
  • If you commit any act judged as dishonest (e.g., an impersonation or prank), apply through an illicit account, post a work that is contrary to the purpose of this campaign or is contrary to public order and decency, or post a work that has offended law or public rules, you will become ineligible for screening or lot drawing.
  • If you do not add the hashtag “#food capital japan” or “#lovetottorijapan” to your work, or if you lock your account, you will be ineligible for screening or lot drawing.
  • You can apply as many times as you like during the campaign period, but please ensure that each time you apply, you post a different work. Also, note that if you are selected as a winner for one work, you will not be selected again for another work.
  • The use right, ownership right, reproduction right, and all other rights (including the rights stipulated in Articles 27 and 28 of the Copyright Law) of the selected works will be vested in the campaign organizer, which will use the works for the campaign website, as well as Tottori Prefecture’s brochures, prints, exhibitions, posters, advertisements and websites (such as Tottori Prefectural Photograph Library) free of charge. However, this does not mean that you will be prevented from using the work that you have posted. Please note in advance that you will not be informed individually of the use of your work.
  • We will bear no responsibility regarding the violation of portrait rights, copyrights, etc. If you post a work that shows someone other than yourself, please make sure to obtain that person’s permission to use the work before posting it. Also, do not take a photo or video where it is prohibited to do so. Moreover, if you encounter any trouble with any person regarding the posting of your work, you will need to resolve the problem on your own responsibility and at your own cost.
  • If you are a minor, you must obtain the consent of your guardian.
  • The campaign period, prizes, and applicable conditions are subject to change without prior notice.
  • You must bear all the costs necessary for application, such as the provider fee, electricity bill, and packet communication charge, on your own.
  • For inquiries such as how to set your smartphone and how to use Twitter or Instagram, contact your mobile phone carrier, mobile phone manufacturer, or service provider.
  • To apply, you need to have an Instagram or Twitter account, and ensure that you can post your work via the Internet on Instagram or Twitter.

■Prohibited Items

To apply for this campaign, you are prohibited from conducting the following acts. If you are judged to have conducted any of the following acts, you may become ineligible for screening or lot drawing.

  • Posting a work without complying with the application guidelines;
  • Posting a work that will prevent the operation of this campaign and that will damage the campaign’s credibility;
  • Posting a work that is contrary to public order and decency;
  • Posting a work that contains a specific website URL or a specific address, or that has a connotation of advertising;
  • Providing information for a commercial purpose, to create publicity, or to attract prospective customers;
  • Violating other people’s copyrights or other intellectual property rights;
  • Violating other people’s property, privacy, or portrait rights;
  • Posting a work that slanders individuals, companies, or other groups, or violates their privacy;
  • Acting against the Instagram guidelines, laws or regulations;
  • Acting against the Twitter guidelines, laws or regulations; or
  • Posting a work judged as inappropriate by the Gourmet Capital Tottori Prefecture Promotion Section

■Cancellation or Postponement of the Campaign

This campaign may be canceled or postponed without prior notice in any of the following situations. The Gourmet Capital Tottori Prefecture Promotion Section will bear no responsibility for any damage that might be caused by such a cancellation or postponement.

  • It has become difficult to continue the operation of the campaign, due to a natural disaster, blackout, etc.;
  • It has become difficult to continue the operation of the campaign, due to war, disturbance, riot, or other incident; or
  • The Gourmet Capital Tottori Prefecture Promotion Section has decided that it is appropriate to cancel or postpone the operation of the campaign for some operational or technical reason.
